The 25th Annual Georgia Collegiate Flag Football Championships were held
at The Univeristy of Georgia on the weekend of November 21st - 23rd,
2008. This tournament brought together 58 teams, representing 26
different institutions, from around the state of Georgia to compete in
the annual flag football tournament. These teams fought through the
cold in an attempt to become victorious and earn the title of 2008 State
Champions. After pool play and tournament games were complete in the
Men's Division, The Hitmen from the University of West Georgia defeated
the Delivery Boys from Valdosta State University in a battle to the
end. In the Women's Division, Da Squad from Georgia Southern
University defeated Prototype from The University of Georgia and
finally in the Co-Rec Division, Boats N Shoes from The University of
Georgia, defeated The Wolfpack from the University of West Georgia. All
winning teams earned the chance to represent the state of Georgia at
the NCCS NIRSA National Championships in Tampa, Florida. Throughout
the weekend there were many players, and teams that demonstrated great
athletic qualites that every flag football team desires and strives
for. These players and teams are chosen by the All-Tournament
Committee for their athletic achievements on the field and representing
their schools appropriately throughout the tournament. Congratulations
to all of the All-Tournament Players as well as the Sportsmanship Award
